Biography
Anders is a tenor vocalist who earned his Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and music education at The Eastman School of Music. Anders also earned his Master’s in Music from Florida State University. In the past, Anders has performed with Eastman Opera Theatre, The Finger Lakes Opera Young Artist Program, Geneva Light Opera in New York, St. Petersburg Opera, Gulfshore Opera, and South Florida Symphony Orchestra. Anders has performed roles such as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Remendado in Carmen, #6 in Transformations, and Gérard in Les Enfant Terribles. Anders is also an established competitor in vocal competitions of varying styles. Most recently, Anders won the Frank Surdi Classical Crossover Award at the SAS performing arts competition, has competed in The Metropolitan Opera Competition, & won 2nd place in The New York International Classic Music Competition (Musical Theatre Division).
Outside of performing, Anders is a passionate voice teacher and educator. Having majored in general music education, Anders worked as an adjunct voice instructor at Finger Lakes Community College as well as a Theory in Motion instructor at The Eastman Community Music School. During his studies at FSU, Anders undertook a graduate assistant of voice position. Here, he taught weekly voice lessons to college level students. Most recently, Anders taught as a voice instructor at Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL and enjoys helping the younger generation of singers find their individual voice!
